ENGINEERING FAILURE MODES WE HELP YOU IDENTIFY EARLY

DFM, Die Casting, IP67, EMI — Engineering Services That Catch Risks Before Launch

01

IP67 enclosure leaks discovered just 1 week before shipment, delaying your entire product launch.

02

Die-casting porosity causing 40%+ rejection rates and destroying your profit margins.

03

Thermal throttling slashing edge device performance and ruining user experience.

04

Hidden EMI leaks causing repeated certification failures and blocking market entry.

05

Mold transfer setbacks: flash, shrinkage, hidden defects that drain your engineering resources.

"These are exactly the kinds of failures our team — led by ex-Tier 1 telecom engineers — is brought in to surface and address early..."

ENGINEERING-LED MANUFACTURING

Not just sourcers. We are your outsourced engineering team.

Your engineer talks to our engineer directly — zero translation loss. We read your CAD, run DFM checks, and own the manufacturing process from tooling to shipment.

Rugged Enclosure & Thermal DFM

Run cooler. Seal tighter. Ship with confidence. We optimize thermal paths and sealing surfaces so your enclosure passes IP67 and thermal cycling the first time.

Telecom-grade 4.3-10 connector interface assembly designed for low PIM and robust EMI shielding performance

EMI Shielding & RF Integrity

Pass EMI certification the first time. We design shielding, specify surface treatments, and review RF interfaces — shaped by real low-PIM telecom programs.

Engineering Results

See how we turn engineering problems into launch-ready outcomes

Real fixes for RF, structural, and thermal challenges that would have otherwise cost time, yield, or validation confidence.

The challenges below reflect actual engineering work our team has executed across telecom, RF, and precision manufacturing programs.

Die-casting mold rescue and porosity elimination for a complex telecom filter housing

Mold Rescue: Diagnosing Three Root Causes Without a Full Rebuild

Outcome: Flash eliminated, density restored — $30K-50K mold rebuild avoided

A telecom equipment manufacturer transferred their filter cavity mold to a new facility, but 1.0mm+ flash and persistent porosity made parts unusable. The receiving factory recommended a full rebuild. VOXEL diagnosed three root causes — equipment mismatch, broken core pins, and lost thermal control — and restored stable production without a $30K-50K rebuild.

Mirror-like CNC machined surface finish on an RF cavity cover plate for ultra-low PIM targets and improved EMC sealing

Thermal Tooling & CNC: Reducing Porosity and EMI Leak Risks

Outcome: Connector-hole porosity eliminated, Ra 0.116 mating face achieved — PIM passed, assembly-line yield restored

Shrinkage porosity at the connector holes of an RF cavity was causing PIM failure and driving batch yield below production thresholds. These are die-cast features that cannot be reworked by machining. We eliminated porosity at the casting stage through high-pressure spot cooling, then optimized CNC toolpaths for a Ra 0.116 mating-face finish — restoring assembly-line yield.

"What impressed us was the engineer on the call actually understood our PIM requirements — not a salesperson reading a script. They proposed a plating spec change that brought our intermodulation below -160 dBc on the first trial."

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a factory or a broker?

Neither. We are an independent engineering and managed manufacturing firm. We act as your boots-on-the-ground engineering team in Asia. We design the manufacturing process, perform the DFM, and oversee production using our rigorously vetted network of ISO-certified facilities.

Why shouldn't I just go directly to a CNC or die-casting factory?

Traditional factories often execute drawings but may not own complex engineering risks end-to-end. When shrinkage porosity or EMI shielding issues appear, progress can stall. We reduce these risks by taking engineering responsibility from DFM through final QC.

What do I get with your Initial DFM & Risk Review?

Typically within 24-48 hours of uploading your STEP file, our engineers provide an initial report identifying potential manufacturing risks (such as porosity or tool collision), redesign suggestions, and a transparent quote.

Are your manufacturing partners certified?

Yes. We work through rigorously vetted production partners, including ISO 9001 certified facilities and category-appropriate quality systems. When needed, we also provide supporting material, plating, and inspection records for traceability.

How fast can we get from first call to actionable feedback?

The first step is usually a 15-minute engineer call. If there is a fit and the NDA is in place, we typically return initial DFM risk flags within 24-48 hours of receiving your files. Prototype, tooling, and production timelines are then scoped based on complexity and volume.

How do you protect my IP and design files?

Standard NDA is executed before any file exchange. Your STEP/STL files are uploaded through a secure, encrypted portal and shared only with the assigned engineer — not with factories or third parties. We never forward your CAD to a supplier without your written approval.

My project is small / still early-stage. Is that a problem?

Not at all. We specialize in high-mix, low-volume programs, but we also support volume ramp when your design is proven. Whether you need 1 prototype or 10,000 units, the 15-minute call is the fastest way to find out.
